Where possible, we encourage you to bring your pet directly to us so you can be part of their final journey. As soon as you have any idea on timings, please call and arrange an appointment.

Would you like to have your pet collected?

As it is not always possible for people to bring their pets over to us themselves, a collection service is available in our bespoke pet hearse from either your veterinary surgery or home. Please contact us for further information.

Would you like a Fur Clipping?

Accepted Answer

Fur clippings are available free of charge. If you would like us to take a fur clipping, please mention this to our team when you choose your pre-cremation options. You can choose to have multiple fur clippings if you like, and you can request clippings from a particular area.

What is an individual cremation?

At Holmes in Heaven Pet Crematorium we ensure that your pet will be handled and cremated on its own. We do not offer any communal cremation. As every pet is cremated on its own, you can rest assured that the ashes you receive are those solely of your pet. If you do not choose our service, it is important that you find out what does happen at the crematorium you intend to use.

What services will my vet offer me?

The choice of crematorium can vary depending on the veterinary practice you use. Unfortunately, many vets don’t give you the option to choose between different crematoriums, which can be concerning since different facilities offer very different services. Some vets may not even ask if you prefer individual or communal cremation, so it’s important to plan ahead and make sure you get the service you desire. If you are wanting to use Holmes in Heaven Pet Crematorium, please let your vet know in advance.

If your vet suggests a crematorium other than Holmes in Heaven Pet Crematorium, it’s worth verifying whether they are a member of an association, as not all pet crematoriums adhere to a code of conduct that guarantees individual cremation and the return of your pet’s ashes.

Can you collect from our home or Veterinary Practice?

We are able to collect from your home, by appointment after euthanasia or from your veterinary surgery, upon request. All collections are made in our bespoke pet hearse.

Yes, we welcome you to accompany your pet on the final part of its journey. Please call in advance to arrange an appointment.

You will be contacted by text or phone call when your pet’s ashes are ready for collection. We do deliver ashes back to your home or Veterinary Practice, however, additional charges do apply.

The Association represents many small privately owned pet cemeteries and crematoria throughout the country. One of its main objectives is to ensure members operate to a strict Code Of Practice before, during and after cremation. At Holmes In Heaven we are proud to be part of this association: APPCC

What happens to my pet's bedding, basket, or carrier?

You have the option to have your pet’s bedding, toys, and collar cremated along with them. Please remember not to leave any items you wish to keep with us. All baskets and carriers should be taken away with you.
